If you read my first post carefully without jumping to the conclusion that I "THINK" I am great, and see that I wrote that it was not a drift or drifting it was just showing what I did replicating the RS-R supra performance and setup characteristics.

It was never about drifting or the corner itself, it wasn't anything more than shareing with you how I experience LFS. Thats what the whole discussion thing is about.

Call me out and you will get an answer. I am not going to sit here and let you talk bad and not try to defend myself when 8 people are taking shots at me how can I not be rude or angry when it was all meant to show you something not ask for your opinion on how I drive.

I have waaay more to my driving experience than LFS, waaaaay more hours behind a real make and models wheel to know how to drive plenty fine. I do well on LFS and didn't mean to come off as having a big fat e-penis.

I guess what I said sent all your e-penis's to attention just to prove your better, when, in fact, I was trying to show that I am as good as alot of you are at drifting. I NEVER said a thing about being better than anyone!! Where did this whole flame the guy for his first video post come from?

So I messed up on the editing, big deal, its not like it kills you to deal with it. I payed the price to be part of this community too and I get treated like this because I shared my experience on LFS? I dont get it.

I didn't just walk in here with my chest puffed up claiming I was anything near perfect. I said I could throw down "LIKE" a pro. I didn't say I was consistent, average, or even down right great at LFS or drifting for that matter at all. But, a few words got dragged into an arguement about wether or not I can drive well!

So what if you can go bigger with bigger power! Hooray for you, you can steer wile your foot is on the floor.

Forget I even posted, if I had the authority to I would delete this thread and forget I even brought anything up to anyone.

So congradulations. I am no longer going to participate in discussion of LFS. Seems that I dont belong on this new fangled internet thing anyway. Phooie.

Thought I would get this kind of attitude here... What really has me amazed is the fact I put together a simple movie of a simple action, no huff and puff bullshit toting high speed techno music or a ton of effects that made no sence at all.

This IS what the tutorial calls for, a strait to the point movie, a link to it, and a description of what is going on. Isn't that what this is?

I am still yet to see ANY of you that are talking shit to do any better! Same corner, same power, same tires! I want to see more smoke, more angle, more speed, bigger entry, and then, I would take you seriously.

I am more than sure either you have no life, or, your just a jerk in general due to some abnormalitie of your own.

Someone else make this corner cleaner with 700bhp and a 130mph entry? Lets see it!

Sorry then.

Road Racer= Grip driver, how hard is it to understand?

More smoke is achieved by frying your tires and drifting, I was making damn nice smoke on perfectly heated tires.

I said I "can" drive better. No need to jump on me about this vid not being perfect.

I said also that I have a crappy computer. I can't run shadows, and alot of other great effects you guys can, give me a break here.

It was only to prove the point of patch Y being very realistic. I was not trying to impress any of you guys that are HARDCORE LFS Drifters.

The tweak set, suspension setup, and entry attempt was very much like a D1 round, 1 corner entry. The bhp and weight, as said setup also is as close to the D1 RS-R supra your gonna get on patch Y.

Like I said, it was not drifting! Just proving that corner entry is not easy at 130mph. In later S1 I could sidebrake down amost the whole braking zone into the T-1 hairpin at blackwood off almost 160mph with the XRT in almost the same trim.

Whats wrong with being able to see the gauges to know how fast my approach is? I though it was kinda neat to know whats going on.

So I suppose I am recording this wrong with gauges to prove my setup and lack of effects? Did I do something wrong by using fraps?

If a mod needs to I dont object to them deleting this thread since the majority is giving me greif over it.

Should i have just titled it, "piss poor attempt to compare to everyone else"??

The smoke was massive by the standard of being as much as you can get without the infamous smoke mod. Shift+F? I'll have to see what that even does.

Yes I know that turn wasn't much at all. I will post more when I get some time to drive more. I have had a few too many drinks tonight to drive anymore, but, maybie tomorrow I will film some more driving, drifting, and general mayhem.

The tweak I use lets a few more things be modified than the one that is currently out. I can balance the car classes very well at 400+bhp, I will be sure to capture that on video first of anything though.

Forgive my lack of footage, I know just one corner is teasing. I can throw down like a pro with a 700bhp setup like I was running. I had 3 drinks and a lack of desire to even play when I filmed this video a few hours ago. I can do much better.

My drifting ability IS A DIRECT EFFECT of my ABILITY to road race. You can not be a great drifter without first being a great road racer. I am a hard core driver in real life too so if gives me an edge in feeling out the setups and tracks in LFS.

The more realistic it gets, the better I am on it! I have heard some complain about the physics, I applaud the physics development! I do not use my tweak program in hotlapping, demo anything, or online play. I have a level of integrity to sustain to be a good person and even online it applies! Check out my sig and you know I am serious about what I do.

This is not the mod by CiPH. No, I can not share it. Sorry. Strict orders.

Dont know what to say otherwise

The video was captured with fraps. I included the settings in the video, instruction how to get them while they fly by, and footage of the monster in action.

Go ahead and check out my real life car vids on youtube.com, some cool stuff.

:lfs:Patch Y, XRT normal tires.

700BHP RS-R D1 Supra driven by Manabu (Max) Orido.

Aston, can't remember the track, just used one corner of it to showcase the ability of my setup, car, and skill.

DFP900, clutch, brake, gas. Auto clutch off. Sequential shifter, realistic handbrake. Crappy, outdated computer. What more can I say. I live for this kind of stuff in real life and LFS allows my exploration into the HIGH HP and HIGH SPEED.

I will also try to get some tire deformation on camera in real life and split screen it with LFS on the same angle some time this spring. I will aslo match up some class cars that are over 400bhp and make a video of myself battling the pack on a tight course with too much power.

The interior view shows steering via the driver and wheel and the pedal inputs are on the bottom right, heel-toe and hard driving is amazing to watch.

Enjoy the video I made for now, its my first. Feel free to comment.

Ben, aka, Grimm, aka, K. Tsuchiya, aka, TOC.

p.s. This is not "drifting" it is just a high speed entry and massive show off style smoke. Nothing more than a big corner, massive speed, and lots of tire smoke. Drifting is so much more than what the video shows.

Hope the link works, TOC Tuning is my brother's small buisness tuning cars and bikes. I do his internet stuff and video/photo stuff so it all ends up under that name on youtube.

Feel free to comment on the video. I have no complaints. I know its not drifting, no need to raise the BS flag for nothing.

LX8? This looks to me like a GTR version of the LX in all its glory. Its really a purpose built hill-climb car. This is what I see in my head when I dream of LX GTR's.

Adding to everything everyone is saying, but seeing it on both sides, I have this to say about it all. When it all comes down to it, there are sim junkies, no issue there, and there are purist's, no harm with them either.

The problem I am see'ing is the fact that some people want LFS to stay the same, on an even keel. Others want to see big power cars and hardcore drifting with smoke lasting forever. Didn't EA just release a new NFS title? Why not get your 200+mph fix from that? LFS is all about class racing.

I got a hold of a tweak program not long ago and drove a 400bhp LX6, tried my road setup on the XRT with a 3 liter "stroker" bottom end on the base motor, basically a detuned XR GTR engine.

But, when it comes down to it, balancing all the roadcars to one class via penalty weight and air restriction, it gets interesting having all drivetrain and engine platforms represented on the track at once.

I say if you are going to make a tweak/value mod program, why not set it up to balance car classes so they are at a higher performance level, ie; bring the XF----XR classes up to the FZ50 spec. It would add more of a sence of realism to add weight to the lower power cars when the engine is improved to keep the handling advantage to a minimum. Of course run the highest performance tire possible around the class as a balance, ie; normal tires due to XFG not having access to road super.

If the tweak is only used offline when your in singleplayer, class racing at a higher pace can improve driver skill to an extent with the higher need to keep your heavy foot in check, and your approach into tight corners more cautious. Nagotiating a field of even 10 cars that are all running 200+bhp and normal tires on fern bay club is a crazy 5 lap sprint in and of itself. How would this be with 20 cars and all of them running 400+bhp?

I am not a programmer but, is there any way we can work toward a more progressive tweak that is more about improving driver skill while having some fun? Of course set aside the ability to take a pre set BF1 with 5 zillion bhp or whatever they need, and a XRT drag car. But it would make the high bhp guys work with whats available rather than comparing times of cars that are probably no where near similar in the tune of the performance.

Can the progression of tweak be productive? Can we work toward a more balanced way of modification? The dev's didn't intend for the community to do this or they would have given us the program, so why not consider the fact that we payed for this sim because it was better than all the rest, not for the fact that it can be modified with tweak's. (I know some bought the game for the tweak, but thats only a few)

Can tweak progress or will it just get left behind like some of the other idea's that have been introduced and then milked for all they are worth on other sims?

Just my two penny's.

Why is everyone overexaggerateing this

And, who the hell would vote for no tweak?

Watever, I have my copy of a tweak for Y, so I dunno why im even posting. Off to make a 5000 hp BF1..

Why are you posting?

1. Your an attention whore

2. Your teasing the demo guys

3. You had to ask what nobody else did. "Why the hell vote no to tweak?"

Far be it from me to crash a good party but this thread has seemed to make no progress in any way I can see.

Seems to be alot of posts here still whining about not having tweak... so to keep occupied till' tweak comes out start a poll?

I said in another thread that if you want to modify the values of a game, you can do ANYTHING to Racer, its free, and you dont have to bother people about making a program for you to access the content of the vehicles.

Just a thought for the people that "just can't wait".

But really, once the "issues" with hotlapping and liscense content are sorted, let the S2 users get their hands on it and make it a perk for the demo players to buy S2 for access to the 3rd party programs.

I have a 900 DFP and a clutch pedal rigged into the setup. The improvement to LFS has been great. The game is perfect and just gets better!
The games tire physics vs real life?
K. Tsuchiya

Well, I dont want to go saying I am a drifter or anything like that, but, I am into it some and have been for the last 5 years. I was addicted to the sight of drift cars in action since I was little. Despite being an american I did have knowledge of the drift scene in japan from a rather young age despite never visiting the country though.

I started driving 5 years ago and live for speed, since very very early S1 demo's, has walked hand in hand with my progression to being as good as I am in a car at this point.

The latest physics and tyre deformation are the closest I have ever seen and felt to real life. The sensation drifting in real life is only compared to in LFS!

I have personally owned 260hp cars, not boosted, but enough power, low enough weight, and plenty of LSD left to use. It is pretty exact to the XRT at wide open throttle in 1st 2nd and 3rd gears with the wheel spin on cold normal tires, vs, a similar size of "all weather" tires you can get at almost any tire supplier on a 200+whp car.

The confidence to come into a corner hauling way too much tail on LFS is there. But, like the guy with the 91 miata was stating, its not as easy to get a car to spin the tires in real life.

Been there too bud, indeed had myself a 91 Miata, BRG, Hard top, 5 speed, worn out LSD, GC lowering springs, koni shocks, and a mean attitude of wanting to be backwards the second the back end came out over 50mph. Its a terrible car to compare to anything but other miata's.

Maybie compare it to the LX4? That would have the huge caster angle feeling the miata does. Plus just like the miata you are nearly sitting on the rear axle dealing with the center axis of the car at your heels on the firewall. Its just a hard to drive car like a mid rear engine. Props for handling one boosted though!

My current car is a 1989 Toyota Cressida, factory worn down LSD, 3200lb curb weight and a worn out 7M engine putting out in the area of 150hp. That indeed feels like the XRG with a nasty soft setup and normal tires. Pretty much as hard to get loose but once its there your yawning while controlling it due to the ease of driving.

The tire physics, when used properly with the right air pressures and camber angles, act as real as anything I have ever seen.

When I get my camera back, I'm gonna fabricate a mount and get some video of my front tire deforming and then some replay footage, mix it together for a side by side comparo of the same size, pressure, camber measurements, and caster measurements. I have the technology to do this, so maybie Scawen would dig seeing someone going that far to show the "real to life" physics that LFS really has.

Loving this Sim more than words can say. I could wait forever to get my hands on the wheel in S3 with the way the progress is moving now. How can you be tired of everything available so far?!

So far LFS is prefect! If you look at the curve of release, its Prefect!

illepall Some people need these games, they would hurt themselfs trying to wrench on a car!

The AE86 is indeed a solid rear axle, but, its a 5 link setup, 2 upper trailing arms, 2 lower trailing arms, and a panhard rod. Very unlikely that ANY american car would come standard with that kinda suspension in the early 80's.

How many of you have owned a hachi roku? Then how many even know that the 4A engine family came with everything from a stupid carbie single cam (4AC), to a fire breathing heart stopping supercharged twin cam 1600 (4AGZE).

Its a stupid thing to request a car be fabricated for LFS. Use Tweak or another value modifier. Its much easyer than getting flamed for a question that has been asked a million times, "Can this car be added?".

All said and done just be glad you have a 190hp AE86, whoever decided an MR2 SC engine was better than the 4AGE had the right thoughts. But whoever left the stock intercooler on it to be mounted in a Front engine Rear drive car was not thinking at all. Expect around 220hp with a FMIC and some new intake pipe.

The corolla is one of the greatest cars of the century, get a FRP, or Carbon bonnet and FMIC and ditch the Poop Scoop.

Sorry for the long post everyone.
